This wedding was the perfect combination of elegance and simplicity. Hessenland provided a beautiful setting for the colour scheme of white and green with a hint of burgundy. In the bouquets we combined a splash of burgundy (leucadendron, orchids and berries) along with fresh whites and greens to create summer bouquets that were fresh but also “earthy”. This bride loved white dendrobium orchids, but this type of centerpiece can be quite pricy. She suggested a compromise; half of the centerpieces were to be full of dendrobiums and the other half gypsophilia… otherwise known as “baby’s breath”. I must admit, I’m not a fan of “baby’s breath”, but done right, in a more modern composition, it can work. The combination in the reception room of the two types of centerpieces gave an elegant and airy feel to this wedding.
