This wedding was probably the most perfectly designed and planned wedding I’ve ever had the pleasure of being a part of. It took place in the bride’s parent’s backyard. The Bride, a PHD art candidate, hand made everything, including the table number cards, the napkins and the table linens. Each was created from vintage fabrics which varied in pattern and colour. The centerpieces were all designed in an assortment of vintage vases that the bride and her sister had been collecting over the years. Even the tea cups for the guests had been lovingly amassed from vintage collections.
We kept the flowers neutral in whites and greens (and a hint of blue for the bride’s bouquet) which worked beautifully with the vibrant blues of the bridesmaids’ dresses and the vintage vases. I wasn’t going to do this wedding- when the bride contacted me, I explained to her that I would be taking a much needed weekend off at my cottage. Well, shortly after, I received a phone call from Heather from HRM, explaining the details of this wedding and she said I was the only person she could trust to do the flowers for this “magazine perfect” wedding. How could I resist, yes, flattery gets you everywhere! Heather was right, I’m so happy that I postponed my cottage trip (worked out that I only needed to leave a few hours later than planned)!! This bride was an absolute pleasure to work with, so sweet, artistic and fun! I just love when everything comes together so perfectly!
